Breast Health

Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer to affect women in Oklahoma, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Breast cancer also accounts for the second-highest rate of cancer-related deaths in the state. That’s why Saint Francis Breast Health Services is dedicated to using the latest technology to continue our tradition of excellence in ensuring exceptional breast health across eastern Oklahoma.

Precision in Preventative and Diagnostic Screening

We offer the following types of imaging for breast health at locations across eastern Oklahoma:

Clinical breast exams, in which a gynecologist feels your breast to check for lumps or other areas of concern, is recommended for women ages 25 to 39 every one to three years. Women over 40 and who have an average risk level should get a mammogram every one to two years until age 75.

However, women at a higher risk of breast cancer due to familial history, genetic predisposition or other factors may need to start screenings much earlier. Our physicians can help you decide what’s the best option for you, and whether your screening frequency should be modified as you age.

Patient-Centered Care

Most forms of breast cancer are highly treatable, which is why early screening and detection is so important. At Saint Francis Breast Health Services, we create a personalized treatment and prevention plan for you, from your annual mammogram screenings to biopsies and diagnosis through any needed cancer treatment, such as surgery, radiation or chemotherapy.

Our patient-centered approach means that our entire team works together to make sure everyone involved in your care is on the same page. Our radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, nursing staff, and obstetrics and gynecology specialists work closely with your primary care physician and a breast health navigator to help guide you through your care and any potential diagnosis. Everyone also coordinates with your physical therapist and counselor, if needed.
